Managing Workflow

The explicit separation of workflow categories has a number of drawbacks--namely, its difficult to keep track of articles that move between a range of categories, and the distinctions are not necessarily intuitive. Potential solutions include sending out an email prompt every time work is done for an article (every time an article advances into a further category). Another, simpler, and potentially more desirable, solution would be to simply do away with the different workflows categories altogether, and "have essays from all categories in one long list", which will make looking through the articles in workflows easier (and less time consuming), so that there will not be several articles "sitting there that look like they've been rejected - or, worse, neglected - for months".
